It is high time we begin to place religious beliefs under the same scrutiny we reserve for secular issues. The Bible is simply a book written by men and is as subject to error and subjective statements as any other human writing. It is time for religious writings to “come of age” and reflect the increased knowledge of our time. Revisions are as relevant there as they are in our scientific knowledge base.
Having said this, with an eye on the religious objections that people voice to gay rights, I hope the voters of Wisconsin will speak for fairness and tolerance and not create a constitutional basis for continued bigotry and intolerance.
