Stop the war on science

By Mike Dishnow, October 10, 2007

It is “music to my ears.” A presidential candidate (Hillary Clinton) stating, “When I am president, scientific integrity will not be the exception; it will be the rule.” How refreshing.

Could it be that we are to lose our status as the laughingstock of the developed world? Will our top scientists no longer consider the possibility of moving to Singapore, Korea or Europe?

After nearly eight years of ideology trumping science, we may be turning the corner on common sense after all.
