Try logic instead of religious dogma

By Justin Ahrens, June 11, 2010

It’s time to break free from religious dogma! We must exercise the power of the human consciousness and use logic and reason to gain further enlightenment. Enough with ridiculous fairy tales – there is no bearded man granting wishes. There is no reason to worship a god who does not want us to be intelligent; Adam and Eve should be admired for wanting to eat from the tree of knowledge. The Bible, and religion for that matter, is irreproducible and has no evidence to support it; zero facts equal only opinion. The story of Christianity is not even original since almost the entire religion (stories, practices, significant events, etc.) is copied from numerous other belief systems. These mythologies predate Christianity by hundreds of years. Even the very people who are trusted to perpetuate the tale of god are sexually abusing children. To make matters worse, God’s head official, the pope, is making the world safer for pedophiles by not holding these priests accountable.

Thomas Paine explained it best when he wrote that “(a)ll national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit.” It is both arrogant and ignorant for religion to claim it already has all of the answers to the complexities of the universe(s); god is the easy way out to the question of how we are. I urge everyone to be a freethinker and continue to pursue enlightenment.
